Harman Pellet Stoves
Why we recommend Harman wood pellet stoves: Our family’s home heating journey
[Published: February 2017]
Our family built a 3,000 sq. ft. home ten years ago in an area without natural gas. After surviving our first winter with the high cost of propane heat, we knew we needed a more fuel efficient heating source. We looked into wood pellet stoves and were impressed with the concept of “direct vent” exhaust that did not require a chimney.
Our first stove was the cheapest we could find from a “big box store”. That was our first mistake! It was so noisy, we had to shut it down in order to hear the television, which defeated the purpose!
After that first winter, we began to research many manufacturers and our next pellet stove was much quieter but more costly. It was a corn burning stove that we could burn wood pellets as well. At that time, corn was a relatively inexpensive fuel source — not so today! Unfortunately, that stove proved to have too many electrical computer components that were a nightmare to trouble shoot.
We then bought our first Harman pellet stove from the Harman Stove Company and as the saying goes “the rest is history”. We knew we had a product and a manufacturer we could count on. We opened our hearth business at that time and became “Harman Stove Dealers” because we believed so strongly in their product.
Over the past six years, we have been asked by many pellet stove manufacturers to sell their product. However, before we even consider a product, it has to pass my engineer husband’s scrutiny of tests in our own house. We have sold other brands that are slightly less expensive but continue to come back to Harman’s unbeatable quality in wood pellet stoves.
Today, Harman is now the only pellet stove brand that we sell.
